DESCRIPTION:You are cordially invited to the 150th Birthday Celebration and Ice Cream Social of The Historic Benjamin Clayton Black House. This is an important moment for The Historic Benjamin Clayton Black House's history\, as well as the City of Searcy as a whole. The Searcy Arts Council would be delighted to see fellow artists take part in an afternoon of painting plein-air.\n\nWe ask if you would be willing\, along with several other artists from the White County area\, to create a plein-air painting on the grounds of The Black House. This is not only a celebration of the house's history or the City of Searcy\, but a celebration of the fact that The Historic Benjamin Clayton Black House will forever serve as The Searcy Art Gallery. We would be honored for you to join us for the festivities\, as well as create a work of art (if you desire to do so) while you are here. If you are willing to create a plein-air painting\, please be advised that we cannot provide supplies or a canvas. Any medium and style is acceptable\, and all are welcome to participate!\n\n \nOur 150th year celebration will be Saturday\, August 10th\, 2024 from 12 noon - 5 pm at The Historic Benjamin Clayton Black House and Searcy Art Gallery\, 300 E Race Ave\, Searcy\, AR.  Not only will artists create plein-air paintings\, but there will be family activities\, ice cream and treats\, and old-timey games such as croquet\, corn hole\, apple bobbing\, and more! We will also be joined by The White County Orchestra\, who will be performing on the grounds. The Searcy Arts Council hopes that you and whomever you would like to invite will join us for this momentous occasion.
