DESCRIPTION:Arkansas Connections Academy a\nvirtual public school for students in K through 11th grades is\noffering parents throughout Arkansas the opportunity to learn more about this\nhighly accountable\, high-quality virtual public school during local information\nsessions. \n\nDuring\nthe session\, participants will discuss the family’s role in the education\nprocess through topics such as organizing the home for the most effective\nschooling environment and balancing time when more than one child is enrolled\nin the program. Participants also will learn how\nArkansas Connections Academy’s community\ncoordinators arrange field trips and extracurricular activities for students\nand parents across the state as a means of education\, fun and networking with\nothers enrolled in the school.  \n\nThe\nschool provides all curriculum materials – several large boxes of textbooks per\nchild\, workbooks and hands-on materials – that make up the core of Arkansas Connections Academy’s print-rich\ncurriculum. Each Arkansas\nConnections Academy\nstudent is also assigned a professional teacher to oversee learning and assess\nstudent progress. \n\nArkansas\nConnections Academy is governed by a Board of Directors composed of Arkansas\nresidents\, while its curriculum and other services will be contracted through\nConnections Education\, a leading provider of high-quality\; highly accountable\nonline learning that has been supporting schools for over a decade.
