If you’d like to help make a difference in our community, please join Arkansas Hospice for a volunteer training session in Searcy on Saturday, Feb. 29. All who would like to learn about the nonprofit organization and its volunteer opportunities are invited to attend. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the Arkansas Hospice office at 410 North Apple St., and lunch will be provided. Being a hospice volunteer brings the opportunity to touch another’s heart and experience the achievements of another’s lifetime in a special way. Many Arkansas Hospice volunteers help provide care for patients and families. Some share their pets by participating in Arkansas Hospice’s Therapy Dog Program. Others help with office work and administrative duties. No matter what your preferences or talents might be, you can be a part of providing comfort care to those with life-limiting illnesses by volunteering. To learn more or sign up, please email Sarah Hagerman, volunteer coordinator, at shagerman@arkansashospice.org, or call 501-305-3650.
