2022 Community of Caring: Expanding the Mission
SEARCY, Ark. (July 20, 2022) — Unity Health announces the expansion of the Community of Caring, previously A Day of Caring, event. The expanded mission will include Caring Drives and Volunteer Days held all around Searcy by businesses, churches and organizations throughout the year, beginning with a Kick-Off during the month of September.
Searcy has individuals and families who are struggling with food insecurity, homelessness, domestic abuse, addiction recovery, and meeting foster care needs. There are nonprofit organizations caring for those needs all year, but they cannot do it alone. They need partners to continue their work in helping families and individuals meet their most basic needs, so they can move into better situations.
The expanded Community of Caring Drives and Volunteer Days will directly benefit the nonprofit organizations who are serving others throughout the year.  Churches, businesses and groups are asked to continue to partner with Community of Caring in the Expanded Mission by hosting a Caring Drive or Volunteer Day to collect items and serve to provide the support they need to continue to this meaningful work.
“We know the basic needs of food, shelter and safety must be met so that physical and mental health needs can also be addressed,” explained Jennifer Skinner, Marketing Coordinator. “For over 25 years, A Day of Caring / Community of Caring partners have helped serve the basic needs of those in White County through these events. Sponsors, donors and volunteers have made these events successful in serving our community, and we are so thankful for their commitment to caring for others. We ask for this continued partnership in the 2022 Community of Caring as we expand the mission.”
