Searcy Energy Smart initiatives, since August 2012 to May 2013, have resulted in monetary savings of $466,473 in one-time cash incentives and $352,598 in ongoing annual energy savings. In addition, we have reduced CO2 emissions by 3.1 million pounds.
Searcy Energy Smart is a Searcy Regional Chamber of Commerce initiative to increase the awareness of the importance of saving energy and the environment for Searcy’s citizens. Home owners, retail businesses, and industries who participate in the various energy and environmental programs will save energy and reduce their utility bills. City’s merchants will benefit from the sales of energy saving products and services. Communitites stand to reap significant benefits in terms of job creation, retained wealth and attracting new investment by becoming actively involved in energy efficiency and envionmental stewardship.
