ELDERLY AND AT RISK SHOPPING HOURS
Dollar General - first hour of operation
Wal-Mart - We know our older customers could be more vulnerable to the coronavirus and to better support them, Walmart is offering special shopping hours. From March 24 through April 28, Walmart stores will host an hour-long senior shopping event every Tuesday for customers aged 60 and older. This will start one hour before the store opens. Our Pharmacies and Vision Centers will also be open during this time.

SENIOR SERVICES -Prepared Meals, Transportation, Shopping

White River Area Agency on Aging   (501) 268-0529 Office is closed to visitors, but employees are still serving over 275 people in White County on a daily basis. Also taking referrals, and delivering food and supplies to home bound senior/disabled.

White County Aging Program- (501) 268-2587 Office Closed to public. Current Services: White County Aging Program, Inc. is offering a "Drive By Pick-Up" meal option in place of the congregate meals at all of our centers during their normal hour of meal service. Our home delivered meal program is still in effect-however, all of Searcy's in-town routes have shifted to frozen delivery once per week in order to limit person to person contact. Anyone over the age of 60 may come to the Searcy Senior Center to pick up a meal. Transportation to medical appointments and for basic needs shopping are also provided at this time. Donations are accepted, but not required.

    HOUSING ASSISTANCE DURING COFID-19

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) launched a new mortgage and housing assistance website, which you can access HERE. CFPB, FHFA, and HUD are offering extensive CARES Act assistance and protection for Americans having trouble paying their mortgage or rent during the COVID-19 national health emergency. This joint website consolidates the CARES Act mortgage relief, protections for renters, resources for additional help, and information on how to avoid COVID-19 related scams. It also provides lookup tools for homeowners to determine if their mortgage is federally backed and for renters to find out if their rental unit is financed by FHA, Fannie Mae, or Freddie Mac.
