Leadership Searcy NextGen is a premier leadership development program for high school juniors enrolled in Searcy High School, Riverview High School and Harding Academy. The program will provide meaningful leadership development and networking opportunities, introduces students to a wide range of careers and local businesses, cultivates a spirit of service, and offers a behind-the-scenes look at how Searcy and White County work and grow.
The program is modeled after our highly successful adult Leadership Searcy program, which is now in it's 31st year of serving the community. Class members will meet with local decision makers from multiple business sectors including economic and community development, small business, non-profit, local and state government, higher education and healthcare. Participants will visit locations across the county, hear from influential speakers from the community, and participate in activities aimed to teach them about the Searcy area and how they can impact the community.
The competitive application and nomination process is conducted through area high school counselors, and the program is administered by the Searcy Regional Chamber’s Leadership Searcy Next Gen Committee. This committee will include representatives from education, business, workforce development, and community leadership to ensure students receive a well-rounded and impactful experience.
Leadership sessions will begin in September, with an evening event on September 22nd from 5:30 pm until 7 pm. We encourage parents of the selected class participants to attend the evening event.
The first session on September 23rd will feature a day-long retreat at The Vines Center, 4H Excel Center, in Little Rock, where students participate in team-building activities and explore their individual leadership styles.

This program is offered to students selected at NO COST. That is made possible through our amazing program sponsors who are all dedicated to education and workforce development. For more information download a program flyer. All applicants must have a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, CTE or other school official. Applications are available at your high school counselor's office.

About Us
CrossPointe Preparatory is a University-Model® School (UMS), a relatively new model for elementary and secondary education that seeks to partner with parents in their God-given responsibility to teach their children.
The University-Mode® School strives to blend the best aspects of traditional public and private schools, as well as home schools, into one model. Students attend classes two or three days each week and learn under the instruction of professional educators teaching in their areas of expertise. All classes are taught from a biblical worldview. On alternate days, students learn at home in a “satellite classroom” where parents continue their instruction and monitor student progress. Teachers provide parents with detailed instructions for days spent at home.
The University-Model® School assumes that parents are the single most influential factor in a child’s emotional, social and spiritual development. Consequently, the school seeks to provide parents the opportunity to work consistently with their children during their school years and teach them the faith and values they hold dear in an environment they control. Ultimately, this partnership develops children who are morally, academically, and spiritually prepared to perform at their maximum potential while maintaining strong family relationships for the fostering of the Christian faith.
Although expectations of parents are clearly defined and required by the University-Model® School, this model is not home schooling or a home-schooling cooperative. It is also not a traditional classroom education with less classroom time. The success of a University-Model® School lies in its ability to effectively join parents with professional educators to produce strong academic results and growing Christian disciples while preserving the parental responsibility for educating children.
CrossPointe Preparatory is affiliated with the National Association of University-Model® Schools (NAUMS, Inc.). NAUMS is a Christian organization that seeks to promote and support this unique model of schooling. Currently, there are 82 existing and developing University-Model® Schools in the United States, including two in Arkansas.
